Hévíz, one of the biggest and most famous spa resorts in Hungary, is situated in the valley 6 km from Keszthely on the southwestern bank of Balaton. Water streaming from the crater keeps the water mass in constant slow motion and even more intensive motion is caused by circulation of cold water from the surface to the bottom and of warm water from the bottom to the surface.
